About Sichuan dialect:Sichuan dialect, a southwest Chinese Mandarin, also known as Bashu dialect. Today’s Sichuan dialect was formed during the great migration movement of “filling Sichuan from Huguang to Sichuan” (湖广填四川,the migration from Hunan and Guangdong to Sichuan)during the reign of Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It was formed by the gradual evolution and fusion of the Shu language popular in Sichuan before the Ming Dynasty and the immigrant dialects from Hubei, Guangdong, Jiangxi and other places.
